Maglione: The Hungarian World Championship was the best ever

The Hungarian World Championship was the best ever, said FINA president Julio Maglione.

Maglione called the 17th FINA World Championships the best ever in FINA’s history. The event that was held in Budapest and Balatonfüred was a huge success. The final act, the closing ceremony took part at the Papp László Budapest Sportarena.

The President thanked the Hungarian government, the local government of Budapest and Balatonfüred, the organizers and the thousands of volunteers.

“The support, enthusiasm and professionalism of all of them made it possible for this to be the best World Championship in FINA history.” Congratulations, “the president said. “Our sportsmen, coaches and officials have been experiencing unforgettable experiences for two weeks,” said FINA chief. “We all felt at home, in fantastic locations, crowded stables, in a wonderful atmosphere, surrounded by the love of Hungarian people, and thanks to this, we have seen exceptional performance in all six sports.”

Next year will be junior synchronous world championship in Budapest, and in 2019 it will be the junior swimming world championship. In 2020, the European Championships for swimming, water polo, synchronous saloons and jockeys will be held at the Duna Arena.
